WEB GEMS- Bot 1st: Jack Wilson robbed Barry Bonds of a base hit.
Vance Wilson had 5 hits and 5 RBI as the very talented Santa Fe Trailer
Bitches man-handled the Chainsaw Proctologists - the final score was 36 to
2.
It seemed that Chainsaw pitching was serving up softballs for Wilson to hit.
He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his 3rd of the season) in the 2nd inning,
hit a single plating two runs in the 2nd inning, tripled bringing in two
baserunners in the 4th inning, singled in the 5th inning and stroked a
one-base hit in the 6th inning. Santa Fe bats were very productive in the
2nd inning which saw them plate 8 runs on 7 hits and the 5th inning with 13
runs on 6 hits. Santa Fe kept the pressure on throughout the contest as they
scored in 6 different innings.
Jake Westbrook(8-6) went 7 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. John
Thomson(5-11) suffered the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 1 inning of work.
'I felt great out there today,' Wilson said, 'Maybe I should make a regular
habit of getting to bed on time!'
